Christmas and New Years

Ok as any UPS family will understand Christmas can be exhausting and this year  it lived up to our expectations. On the bright side we only have one more Christmas peak season with UPS( the brown Santa ),before we leave land and move onto Pieridae fulltime. We are looking forward to that and that keeps us moving forward after our dream.

We had a great Christmas Eve dinner in Leicester,NC a tradition going back many years. As a kid I (Doug) spent every Christmas eve at my Grandparents were we all gathered ,cousins ,anuts ,uncles the whole family. We were not allowed to open anything until mid-night, with that said remember we were kids and there was alot of cookies cakes ect.. sugar ha ha, I would say the grown ups were sooo ready for mid-night to get there even more so than us kids. Great memories. After my Grandparents passed away, we started meeting at my parents not the whole family just ours and have made lots of great memories there as well. I have to say my parents are great and we Love them more than they know. Thanks for another great Christmas!!!

About 11 years ago we started a tradition of our own, we take a vacation one to two weeks right after the UPS Christmas madness. Our first year we went to a condo on Oak Island,NC since then we have been from  FL to Branson MO. In 2007 when we became apart of sailtime (fractional boating program) we spent the next few years on the boat. Until this past one now we have our own boat were we had a great 2 weeks vacation onboard Pieridae . We spent New Years eve with our friends Don and Erin and had a great low country boil we prepared on the boat. We had some great weather and had some great sails. It was a great week of relaxing and enjoying our time off from work. And we got a few projects done on the boat.
