Southport , NC

This is where our new adventure in life begins. Southport has always felt like home to me, so being here as we have left Asheville was really a very easy transition. Our plan is to keep Southport as our home port and start traveling up and down the east coast. We will spend our summers here in Southport or maybe sometimes a little farther north. And our winters we will spend South, FL ect... We will be making these moves based on the travel nurse assignment up and down the east coast. The travel nursing field is a great way to work and still live this kind of lifestyle. We choose from a list of jobs in the areas we are wanting to travel to. So we are looking at coastal jobs up and down the east coast.

So life in Southport full time is everything and more what expected. Its a great small coastal town just South of Wilmington,NC. So not only do you have the small town feel, you also have a growing coastal city to explore.

Our evening in Southport has conceited of sailing, bike riding, exploring on the dinghy, walking trails and of course great seafood. We have also went to many concerts around town.
Here are a few pictures of our time here in Southport.

And of course one of the best the best restaurant on the coast of NC according to a report in USA Today. Provisions Company

 Great food and views.

We have also been able to do a lot of things in downtown Wilmington with our friends Don and Erin although we all know Erin would like it best if they came to visit us in Southport so would could eat at Provisions. We all love Provisions but we tell Erin sometimes its nice to try new places (inside joke)
Provisions Company!!!!!!!!

We have had some great times both in Southport and Wilmington. One thing we did was go to a wine and painting date night in Wilmington. Never done that before , but we all had a blast.

And yes we sold them to a art collector right after we completed our master pieces ha ha.

July 4th Southport

At times we have seen a few interesting things to say the least wash up on the beach.

Not a place any of us want to be......

Our new pet on F dock lol

We have truly seen a lot of cool things but sometimes its just nice sitting around anchored up in the basin and just taking in the salt air and sunsets

We moved our boat to Carolina Beach about one month ago to be closer to the hospital (more on that later).  So far though, we have had a great summer and are looking forward to the upcoming move south. We will post our winter location soon, but Tina has extended here in Wilmington until November 1; so, it will be a little later than October.

  1. Hey guys, this is real exciting stuff. I am so happy to see that everything is what you expected. It really is a wonderful life by the sea. Hope you give Jacksonville a second thought on the way down. I will keep a slip next to Skylark open just in case.
Have a safe trip and I hope to see you all soon.
